One feature CorelDraw offers is called Launch. I use this feature daily to send files to from CorelDraw to a Vinyl plotter software. It is not a "Print" feature, it does not use a print spooler. It sends whatever text/object/etc. I have highlighted to the program that runs my Vinyl plotter to cut vinyl decals. A process like this would be very effective for fast production, similar to printing a file from a template to JobControl.
I mention this because I currently use CorelDraw Templates to create and send files to JobControl. We provide our customers with very specific options to create their custom plates/name tags/etc. Using these Templates as a starting point makes the daily orders we process fast and efficient. Quickly sending our files over to JobControl so the next job can be processed as soon as the current job is finished. Even letting jobs build up in the queue, while the laser is processing. This gives us the ability to process 250+ jobs each day using the 5 Speedy 100 machines we have.
I have had difficulty showing support techs at Trotec our process and implementing that process, using CorelDraw Templates into Ruby fast and effective. It seems as those JobControl was built for commercial use, but Ruby was built for hobbyist.
